Koshigayaboshi, “the star of Koshigaya”, is a city in the southeast region of Saitama prefecture, 25 km from Tokyo. During the Edo Period Koshigaya was the third lodge town from Nihonbashi to Nikko. The name was suggested by the people of Koshigaya in honor of the city's fiftieth anniversary in 2008.
