John N.L. Aligawesa (1949-1999) was a telecommunications lecturer at the Dar-es-salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) in Tanzania. He attended the City college of New York, where he received his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was an avid instructor at DIT and a champion for education for all.
