Named in memory of Shigemaro Kibe (1912–1990), foremost amateur telescope maker in Japan and well known observer of the sun, planets and variable stars. The telescope mirrors made by him are used all over Japan and include the mirror for the 0.60-m reflector at Kyoto University’s Hida Observatory. (M 20838) _ _.
