Named in honor of the daughter of the Austrian astronomer Hofrat Edmund Weiss (1837–1917) who founded with Karl von Littrow the Vienna Imperial Observatory in 1875. Later, he was director of the observatory where this planet was discovered. (H 61) _ _.
