Hazama Shigetomi (1756–1816) was an astronomer in the Japanese Edo period who studied positional astronomy. He devised a new calendar computation method, “ Kansei-reki”, with Takahashi Yoshitoki (1764–1804) {see planet  (12365)}. He was also an able technician, inventing many new measuring instruments.
