The Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger (1887–1961), born in Vienna, founded wave mechanics in 1926. Later he worked in relativistic quantum mechanics, the theory of gravity and unified field theory. Together with Dirac, he received the 1933 Nobel prize in physics. (M 40710) _ _.
