Named in honor of Varvara Ivanovna Orel’skaya, a member of the staff of the Institute for Theoretical Astronomy from 1937 to 1982, well-known for her work on determining the equator-equinox correction using observations of minor planets. Her plan, supported by IAU Commission 20, of observations of 20 selected planets during 1974–1990 is continuing. (M 7618) _ _.
