Named in honor of the Lewotsky family, especially Kristin and Gretchen, friends of the discoverer. Kristin, a classmate at the California State University at Fullerton, is currently a writing editor for an optics industry trade magazine; with a degree in optical science and engineering from the University of Central Florida, she worked on mirror fabrication for NASA’s Advanced X-Ray Astrophysics Facility program.
