Your ruling planet Mars is in Capricorn throughout October, the sign which rules your career and vocation, your status and reputation. It’s where you’re heading in life, your future goals and unsurprisingly action planet Mars enjoys being in workaholic Capricorn.
This is the strategist, the activist, determined and resolute to get to the top of the mountain and stay there for as long as possible. Capricorn is one of the earth signs so this month you can finish what you start and bring important projects to completion.
In fact, you might be able to achieve more in October than the previous nine months. If there’s something specific you’re working towards, be focused and disciplined and concentrate on your ambition 100%.
It’s been a strange year in many respects because your ruler Mars spent 9 months in only two signs of the zodiac, Scorpio and Sagittarius. Plus Mars was retrograde from April 17th to June 29th, slowing you down.
Yet even though this is a positive month for work and career and pursuing your chosen vocation, that’s not to say you won’t be up against opposition. In fact, there will be times when you have to be courageous, prove your willpower, refuse to give up in spite of obstacles in your path.
The cardinal signs dominate the month’s activity especially Aries, Libra and Capricorn. Cardinal signs are the leaders and motivators of the zodiac and you’re one of them. This month, however, there’s strong influence in the sign of Libra, your opposite sign.
Libra rules your relationships, your 1-to-1’s, both personal and professional. This is your competition and let’s face it, if you’re a typical Aries, you often find yourself in situations where you have to prove yourself as you like to win.
There will be times this month when you’ll be rebelling against other people, when you’re caught up in disagreements or conflict. The Full Moon on the 16th highlights opposing forces when the Sun in Libra is challenged not only by the Moon in Aries but unpredictable Uranus in your sign. This could highlight where your challenges lie, whether this is a personal or professional fight.
So choose your battles carefully in the month ahead. Decide where it’s worth conserving your energy and ‘giving in’ and where you need to stand your ground and stick to your guns. Not all of your moves will be popular in the month ahead and you will need to learn to compromise at times but don’t give up on your goals either.
Events around the 19th/20th could prove pivotal when Mars connects with Pluto in Capricorn. This is a ‘do (Mars) or die (Pluto)’ combination when you either have to step into your power or you encounter an individual who’s willing to go to any lengths to win. If your current job situation is unstable, fight hard to get what you want.
The good news is that Mars is strong in Capricorn as mentioned previously and as long as you wield your power for the force of good rather than evil, you have every chance of competing successfully, whatever your chosen field.
It is also important to recognise that you do need people on your side now and in fact, with the planet of opportunity and growth, Jupiter, moving steadily through Libra, there’s help at hand. Employ an expert to work for you, hire a coach, team up with a support buddy to encourage one another and to have someone in your life to be accountable to.
The New Moon on October 1st falls in Libra close to Jupiter and this is a brilliant date for new beginnings when it comes to relationships, partnership and joint ventures. Note too the 11th when Mercury and Jupiter team forces in Libra. This is good news for education, legal matters, big ideas. It would be a powerful date for a meeting, interview or asking for what you want.
Love too falls under Libra’s domain so relationships are key this month. You can learn a lot about yourself now through other people and this includes intimate and close relationships. Yet here too you might experience more arguments than usual or notice your differences more than what draws you together.
If you’re in a long-term relationship or married, it will help if you have a common goal, something that binds you close. This is a big month for money and work matters so ensure that if you can’t be a winning team, you at least encourage each other to aim high and you’re supportive rather than critical of each other’s achievements.
When it comes to money, your finances are closely tied to another person now, whether this is your life partner, an ex or a third party. The 27th is a key date for financial discussions and the New Moon at the end of the month on October 30th also falls in Scorpio and your joint finance sector.
Keep a close eye on money matters and set up new financial agreements that are fair. There will be times throughout the month when you and someone close have different agendas and this might be highlighted on the 30th when Venus connects with Saturn. There are some tough decisions to make now, most likely with regard to travel or study, joint finances, close relationships.
Let go of what’s not working out and commit to what is working. This is a month when you have to step up a level and confront life and love head on.
