Welcome to Taurus Season, the time in the zodiac calendar when we turn our attention to the earth beneath our feet. Taurus helps us get grounded into our physical lives, from accumulating the resources we need to live comfortably to money, food, and pleasure.

Taurus is the first earth sign. Following the fiery impulse of Aries, Taurus slows us down and helps us connect with our senses — the smell of our favorite things, the taste of our favorite foods. Taurus revels in existence; it grazes through life. It’s flowers and fertility, it’s safety and stability, it’s sexuality and sensuality.

Because of its connection to the physical world, Taurus has a natural connection to money and the accumulation of resources. So, this is a time for us to take a look at our own physical life, from our bank accounts to the tangible things we need to feel rooted and cared for in life. We may be buying more things over the coming season or acquiring resources in other ways.

As we enter this new season, Venus, the ruling planet of Taurus, is also in Taurus. So we’re really feeling this earthy indulgence for the next few days, until Venus arrives in Gemini on April 24. Also, the Moon’s in Cancer today, so we’re really kicking off the season with our needs underlined — both physical and emotional.

This weekend, don’t be surprised if you’re feeling a little sensitive and want to curl up with loved ones or with a home cooked meal. Further, keep an eye out for Pluto Retrograde on April 22. It’s pulling up some deep stuff as well. Best to take care and nurture yourself.
