Cancer March 2019

28 Feb 2019, 08:19 am

Cancer, water

Cancer (22 June – 22 July)

It’s a watery world in March as the key star sign is your fellow water sign, Pisces. It’s here where there’s plenty of planetary activity as key planets whoosh forwards and backwards through Pisces’ seas.

This starts early in the month with a stunning New Moon in Pisces on the 6th. The Sun and Moon sit next to Neptune, Pisces’ planet, and this whole combination is wonderfully mysterious and magical for you. A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings. This is the time to tap into your dreams and imagination, to find your creative or spiritual source.

Pisces is the star sign which rules travel and study in your horoscope. It’s about exploration and adventure and seeking the bigger picture in life. You either need something to believe in or to immerse yourself in throughout March.

There’s another significant reason for this. On the 5th, the day before the New Moon, Mercury, the planet which rules the mind and communication, turns retrograde. Mercury remains on go slow until the 28th. This is invariably a time to slow down the pace and do things differently.

It’s not the time to make big decisions or change your life around dramatically. Instead, use this Mercury retrograde phase to find inspiration, to contemplate and reflect, rest and retreat. It would be an ideal month to head for water, whether you’re on holiday by the sea or walking by a lake. Perhaps, you take up swimming and use the watery realm to stimulate your ideas and dreams.

If you’re an artist, a seeker, a mystic or dreamer, this is your month to throw yourself into the creative or spiritual realm. However, it won’t be easy for everyone. This could also be an emotional month when you feel as if you’re going around in circles and you lose your way.

It’s important to know that Mercury is on go slow and life could feel confusing or even absurd. Everything is not what it seems with Mercury in retreat. Don’t take too much at face value or make assumptions based on what you hear or read.

Instead, use this deluge of Pisces’ activity to seek things new. Explore life to the full and go wherever it leads you. Be willing to adapt and change if things don’t work out the way you expect them to. The Mercury/Neptune influence is particularly strong around the 24th and into the first week of April. These two planets remain close as Mercury turns direct on the 28th.

For some of you, this will be a time when you’re considering what next and wondering about your path ahead. This is because March heralds the Equinox on the 20th, the day when the Sun enters Aries, the first sign of the zodiac.

For your star sign, this is when the Sun reaches the pinnacle of your horoscope. It’s the start of a key month focused on your career and vocation. The Full Moon on the 21st highlights the foundations of your horoscope, as it cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac.

Mercury remains retrograde for another week but notice the signposts and what comes along during the Full Moon. This is when the light of the Moon is at its brightest. It’s a strong time to trust your intuition as clarity strikes.

Money too is part of the picture with the planet of relating, Venus, in Aquarius and your joint finance sector from the 1st until the 26th. You may have a partner who’s doing well in life, which gives you more options. Perhaps, you meet someone who can help you in some way financially, either with advice or guidance.

Keep your eyes on the ball as new opportunities will arise with regard to your work and career, your money and security. Choose wisely and you can make swift progress towards the end of March and into April.

There is another key factor involved here which includes the planet of change, Uranus. On the 6th, Uranus leaves Aries and your career and vocation sector where it’s been since 2011 and enters earth sign, Taurus.

This important shift feels significant. It could coincide with the end of a job or contract or the reverse, a new stage in your career. You might decide to get away from a difficult boss and take yourself off to pastures new.

Uranus rules technology and all things modern and it’s the freelance planet, so consider whether a move towards security could benefit you. Perhaps, you’re finding it hard not knowing where the next pay-cheque is coming from. If you’re a typical Sun Cancer, emotional and financial security are vital aspects of your life.

Friends, acquaintances and colleagues could also play a key role in this month’s events. This is because Uranus’ move into Taurus highlights your friendship and group sector. These areas of your life are where change is likely, whether you’re moving on from a group you’ve been involved with for years or you’re ready to meet new people.

For you, Uranus’ epic move into Taurus is about the internet and online connections that can turn your life around. You may have a strong sense that you want to be part of society or community and do your bit for politics, the environment or social causes. You’re one of the cardinal signs of the zodiac and this is where you can be a leader, a pioneer and innovator. Uranus remains in Taurus until 2026.

Plus, action planet Mars is in Taurus until the 31st. This is where you find your anchor in the month ahead, via your friends. If you find yourself losing touch with reality or confused about what’s happening in your life, turn to your friends.

If love brings shocks or surprises – perhaps on the 1st, your friends will be there for you. They are your rock to lean on in what could prove to be an important month, a key period of inner transformation.
