Magic and Happiness catch fire at the Leo New Moon

Leo New Moon I found this image on a free wallpaper site.  If this is your art, please be sure to let me know.

The Moon is new in Leo on the 26th of July, fusing the Sun and the Moon in the sign that opens the heart and encourages us to find our own best expression.  Consciousness becomes alive under the sign of Leo, and our sense of self is highlighted and encouraged to flower.

Both the Sun and Moon align with Leo at this time, and Jupiter has newly entered Leo.  That sense of heart-opening and a continually expanding thirst for joy is fresh and new now – perfect for this New Moon.

Saturn is still wrapped in a harmonious embrace with Chiron, helping us to give structure and order (Saturn) to our quest for healing and wisdom (Chiron).  This aspect has underpinned the challenges of the past few months and assisted in our developing greater understanding and releasing the wounds of the past.

Mars has just entered Scorpio and square the New Moon in a 90 degree aspect of tension and passion, demanding that we let go to the dynamic impulses that may seem untamed or impractical.  Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio and is very happy in that passionately intense sign where it no longer has to be pleasant and polite as it has been these past many months in Libra.  However, that Mars is also square to Jupiter, and when the god of war (Mars) faces off against the king of the gods (Jupiter) things can get a bit testy.  Anger, desire, inspiration and motivation – all Mars traits – are expanded during this time and we may feel reckless and willful.  Just go with the flow, as long as everyone stays safe.

This intensity and passion is magnified by a conjunction of the Black Moon Lilith to Venus in a union of the Dark Feminine (BML) with the more pleasing and pleasant goddess of attraction and pleasure (Venus).

I love this combination of darkness and light, passion and pleasure, fire and the burning away of superficial personality that characterizes this New Moon.   This energy helps us to begin this New Moon cycle of Leo by literally burning away the detritus of the past and awakening the Divine Child within us.  This Divine Child rules with innocence and desire, secure in the knowledge that each of us is unique and incredibly special.

This is the lesson of the New Moon, and one to celebrate!
