Theodor W. Adorno (1903-1969), German philosopher and musicologist, was a leading figure in the Frankfurter Schule of critical theory. Writings such as Dialectic of Enlightenment (1947) show him to be one of the 20th century's foremost thinkers on aesthetics and philosophy.
