Vlasta Kálalová-Di Lotti (1896-1971), a Czech physician interested in tropical diseases and entomology, came from the southern Bohemian town of Bernartice. In 1925, she founded a hospital in Baghdad (Mustausaf Cechoslovak), with a special focus on health services for women.
