Romanian composer George Enescu (1881-1955), a student of Massenet and Fauré, achieved a synthesis between the music of the Romanian people and the great European musical traditions. His rhapsodies and symphonies are known and interpreted worldwide. The name was suggested by M. Stavinschi.
