Sobotište is a village in southwestern Slovakia with a rich history. The first written reference is from 1251. In 1845 a credit cooperative, the first in continental Europe, arose there. The local astronomical observatory, founded in 1972, participates in the observation of meteors and occultations. (M 43384) _ _.
