Named in memory of Yoshiaki Banno (1952–1991), a coworker of the discoverers and a computer engineer at the National Laboratory for High-Energy Physics in Tsukuba city. A discoverer of (4200) Shizukagozen, he was one of the pioneers among Japanese amateur astronomers in the use of electronic computers for orbital calculations. He was tragically killed in a traffic accident on his way home from the laboratory. (M 21130) _ _.
