Named in memory of Vojtěch Jarník (1897–1970), Czech mathematician and professor at the Charles University in Prague. He studied number theory and was also well known for his work on the theory of real variable functions. His excellent textbooks on the differential and integral calculus have been used by several generations of mathematicians and physicists. (M 24121) _ _.
