Infrared astronomer Masuo Tanaka (b. 1955) is a researcher at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Tokyo. His research interests include excitation of infrared molecular hydrogen emission, ices in molecular clouds, final-stage evolution of massive stars, and mass loss from massive stars.
