Hidekazu Kikuoka (b. 1941) has been a planetarium educator at the Osaka Municipal Electric Science Museum and at the Science Museum of Osaka. He founded the Japan Astronomical Club in 1955 and served as its president during 1965-1985. The name was suggested by T. Sato and K. Kitao.
