Yasuaki Iba (1894-1957) was a trading merchant and an amateur astronomer in Kobe, Japan. He informed the astronomical world that the occurrence of the 1054 Crab supernova was described in Meigetsuki, a famous diary written by Fujiwara-no-Teika.
