Boris I (832-907), also known as Boris-Mikhail, was the ruler of the First Bulgarian Empire in 852-889. At the time of his baptism in 864, Boris adopted Christianity in Bulgaria and added Mikhail to his name after his godfather, Byzantine Emperor Michael III.
