William Holden (1918–1981) was a screen actor admired for his work in Picnic (1955), with Kim Novak {see planet  (9339)}, and in The Bridge over the River Kwai, with David Niven. He is also the initiator of a wildlife foundation in Kenya. (M 47165) _ _.
